I am getting ready to do a new mod to my Cutlass Supreme and it involves an Oldsmobile Intrigue part.  The part came out of a 1999.  Does anyone have an Intrigue book that can get me a wiring diagram?

If you go to http://www.gmpartsdirect.com and put in your vehicle it might get you what you need.

A friend of mine had a book and got me the wiring diagrams for it.  gmpartsdirect does not have wiring diagrams that I have been able to find.

What I was doing was I converted my green car to use the newer BOSE amp.

I had bought a complete 1999 Intrigue BOSE setup.  I got everything but the radio itself.

When I installed BOSE into my 1995 Cutlass Supreme, I used all the speakers, wiring, and amp from a 1994 Lumina Z34.  The radio head unit I used was from a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora.

It worked good, but I noticed that it sometimes got some feedback, and I also got a slight electrical smell coming from the trunk if I used it for more than 20 minutes at a time.  I realized that the newer radio was putting out more power than the amp could really handle, so I decided to swap in the newer amp, and use the newer rear speakers as well.

I had to cut a hole in the top of the speaker deck (the metal, not the cover).  The newer amp is dropped in from the top, wheras the older one has a bracket.

After the hole was cut, I started doing the wiring.  Most of the wires were able to be swapped and repinned from the older amp wiring to the newer amp connector.  I only had 10 wires that had to be soldered, and 4 of those wires I am not using at this time.  They are for rear tweeters that I didn't not install.  The rear tweeters were punched out (the paper had deteriorated), and I didn't have room for them.

It all went pretty smooth until my dremel caught on fire, but after throwing it into the yard, I got back to work.

The new rear speakers are in, and the amp is in and working.

I tested it and it sounds 100% better than the original setup I had.  I have some bigger BOSE door speakers, and individual tweeters I am thinking about installing, but for now, I am happy with what I've got.

Nice work!

Your dremel caught fire?!?!? I've had a grinder catch fire before. I didn't have anything to replace it at the time, so I kept on using it - huge cloud of smoke pouring outta it, flames shooting out of the air exhaust... It worked that way for like 5 minutes too!

Thanks.  I like to do things that are NOT the norm.

That is pretty much what my dremel did.  It is one of the battery one, and it is a POS.  It was a 10 speed, but for the last year, it has only had 1 speed.  MAX.

I normally like it hot and fast, but for the dremel, it is not always a good thing.

Having max only makes it run hotter, and burn up faster.
