My girlfriend and I were in the back seat and she was like "eww, what's that?" lo and behold there was a stain or splattered... something on the headliner. Dunno what it is nor do I care, I just need to know how to get it off.

i'd be scared to use carpet cleaner on a soft surface like headliner fabric..... maybe try some household cleaner like incredable or something

If not carpet cleaner (as cutlsp mentioned, might be harsh on the fabric and/or dyes in it) just try getting it damp using a spray bottle and gently rub it w/ a dry cloth.? Could be something water soluable and might come right out.
(insert masterbation joke here)
I've also discovered Spray & Wash works wonders for quickly cleaning white leather shoes - might be able to hit it w/ something like that and go back over it w/ some water and a dry cloth to pull out the stain.
