V8 Ford Focus

I was at this little pro street shop in my town getting headers with my uncle, and this guy had a focus out front for sale - $12,000 or something.  But I saw some chrome in the wheelwells and looked under there and the thing had headers.  And there were no CV joints, transaxle, or anything.  There was a Ford 9" in the rearend.  He came out and popped the hood and I nearly shit myself - a damn carburated 347 (bored and stroked 302) !!!  He fired it up for us and it had that tinty flowmaster grunt to the exhaust, and when he wound it up, the whole car just torqued sideways.  What can be cooler than a sleeper SVT Focus with 410 horsepower, hooked up to a Tremec T-6 manual and 3:50 gears   The owner said that there's a company that sells kits to do this.  You supply the motor, they supply the the Mustang II front end and 9" rear, driveshaft, and headers.  That is one bad little ride.  Shame I don't have twelve grand

There are kits for everything - Caddy's, Focuses, Rangers, etc, but no Luminas.

Two things that bother me about this:

If you wanted a car with no cabin room, you could get a C6 Z06 for a little bit more, which goes faster and is more aerodynamic.  The Fuckus is about as aerodynamic as my right shoe.

Well the terminator focus is Ford's SVO special project - they're not being produced yet and when they are, they will be much cheaper.  They make kits that allow you to stuff a bigger motor in them than a 4.6 liter, and the kit plus all needed supplies (rearend, trans, motor, etc.) is about $4500.  You can put anything from a 289, 302, 351, 427 stroker, to a 390 FE.  Unfortunately the 460 won't fit   Imagine - a car with a short-ass wheelbase with over 400hp.  Most Ford guys would admit that's fawkin sweet!  Camaros are a bit longer too...
