I purchased some Sound Destroyer mat for my truck. I ordered SecondSkin Damplifier Pro (The REAL good stuff!) and wanted to jsut stick some on the roof of my truck because I figured I didn't need anything that heavy-duty up there.

That was a big mistake....

The crap melted inside of the truck, and peeled off. While it did this, it warped the roof of my truck, and broke the seal for my sunroof (yay a leaking sunroof, just what I always wanted!!!!). As I was removing it I took some pictures of how it actually "melted" in a truck that was only 85* out. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if it was 80-90* outside, and over 150* in the truck! I didn't put the headliner back in because I wanted to see how well this stuff did in the heat, but it melted before it was even hot outside!!! Good thing I didn't put the headliner back in, it would have been destroyed. What pisses me off the most, is not only did it brake the seal on my sunroof, but it also warped my roof!!! I had to weld up bracing in the roof to make it stronger (although that's not too much of a bad thing). I sent a nastygram to the owner, and received a reply back...

that is the first send me your address and ill send you 80 mil try that i do not understand why it fell off it still had to be dirty, if the area is not cleaned really good it will not stick that is why we give the degreaser to help and also are you putting your liner back up? but send your address and ill send you our 80 mil which has a higher heat

I replied to her saying I've done this with Dynamat numerous times in the past, and the surface was prepped. I guess she didn't understand that when something melts, it doesn't matter how stuck to the surface it was, because it's melting!!!  lol

I got the package about 5 day later, and this time decided that it was NOT going in my truck after what happened the other stuff. I needed some cheap sound deadening in the trunk of my Lumina since I threw my subs in there, so I lined the inside of the truck with it, and not surprising; it all melted and sagged - and it really doesn't get all that hot in the trunk either!! I just have to go over it with a roller every so often, but I really don't care about having the sound deadening in the truck all that much; if I cared I'd do a quality job with SecondSkin Damplifier Pro (what I'll be sticking in my truck).

Anyway, here are the pictures of the crap melting off in my truck. If you really look at the pictures (especially the last one) you can see where the roof is bowed in right where everything that's melted is...
